Kate made her TV debut in Wolf Hall back in 2015 and has since appeared in many different television shows.

In fan favourite The Crown she played Winston Churchill’s fictional secretary Venetia Scott.

She also played cocaine addict Linda Shelby, Arthur Shelby’s wife, in the hit series Peaky Blinders and Princess Mary in Downton Abbey.

In the popular detective drama Miss Scarlet and The Duke, she played the role of Eliza Scarlet.

Since then she has gone on to star in many further roles including the adrenaline fuelled thriller Hijack.

But it was her role as Jane Seymour that saw Kate open up about her personal life and the birth of her own little girl in real life.

Jane was able to give King Henry VIII the son he had always yearned for from his previous wives.

But soon afterwards, Jane tragically died of a condition that may have been caused during childbirth.

Speaking with The Times Kate said that she had reflected on Jane’s predicament during her own labour.

Kate said she was given an epidural after nearly a day of “extraordinary agony”.

She added: “I turned to my partner and said, ‘How the f*** did women do this in the Tudor period?’”.

Kate’s partner is actor Oliver Chris who has had roles in a number of television shows including The Crown and Green Wing.

He also stars alongside Kate in the period drama Miss Scarlet and The Duke playing the role of Basil Sinclair.

In the steamy new Rivals, which is based on the Jilly Cooper book of the same name, he plays TV presenter James Vereker.

Kate and Oliver have a three-year-old daughter but they like to keep their family life away from the public gaze.

Although Kate did share some fun snaps on social media where she captioned an image with: “My three-year-old took advantage of us over lunch”.
