THE Princess of Wales appeared to start a jam war today after offering her recipe for free just days after Meghan launched her exclusive new brand.
California-based Meg, 43, launched her ‘As ever’ range last week which will sell food online after agreeing a megabucks tie up with Netflix.

Posting on Instagram, she said: “Of course there will be fruit preserves, I think we’re all clear at this point that jam is my jam.”
But meeting youngsters in South Wales today, the Princess of Wales revealed she had her own recipe for plum jam – and offered to pass on her tips for making the perfect preserve for free to youngsters.
Kate’s revelation could spar a sticky trans-Atlantic jam war between her and Meghan.
The princess and duchess have not spoken for years as Harry and Meg hurled insults on their Netflix six-par show, tell-all memoir and shock Oprah Winfrey interview, since Megxit.
Hearing how young volunteers at a community garden were growing their own plums and turning them into jam, she promised: “I’ll send you my plum jam recipe so you can try it.”
The princess also revealed that she is learning to forage in Norfolk, with her three children left impressed by a “huge” puffball mushroom she had found near their home at Anmer Hall.
Kate added: “The children thought it was fascinating.”
On the same Welsh visit, the pair’s first “away day” together since Kate’s cancer treatment, the pair were caught sharing a cheeky joke, as they baked cakes at the Welsh Cake Shop.
Arriving at Tshop – which is well known for its Bara Brith, a traditional Welsh fruit bread – Wills jokes: “How dirty can you be? Flour everywhere?”
The couple then proceeded to giggle as they donned matching aprons while making traditional Welsh Cakes at the Pontypridd shop – which has served tasty snacks to locals for more than 25 years.

Kate’s simple offer of a free jam recipe comes as Meg’s jam-selling relaunch hit the buffers when it emerged her new name ‘As ever’ clashed with a New York clothes shop.
She was also accused of “plagiarism” by the Mayor of a Majorcan town who pointed out her new logo was the same as their 14th-century coat of arms.
Meg sent out jars of her American Riviera Orchard-branded jam to friends and influencers last year as a soft launch as she attempts to become an entrepreneur.
But she had to start again and change its name after ARO failed trademark tests in the US last September.
Finally after months of speculation last week she introduced ‘As ever’ to the world during a cringy 70-second Instagram post.
Meg said in the recording: “You know, I’ve always loved cooking and crafting and gardening. This is what I do, and I haven’t been able to share it with you in the same way for the past few years but now I can.”
Her accompanying Netflix series called ‘With Love, Meghan’ will air next week after being postponed due to the Los Angeles fires.
But her ‘As ever’ branded jams are yet to be on sale.
Kate, meanwhile, has been turning up for more public appearances as part of her “gradual” return to work after cancer.
At the Welsh Cake Shop, she and Kate were each given a mixture and handed a rolling pin and a demonstration by owner Theresa Conner.
Once the mixture was flat they each cut 12 circles and placed them in a pile.
Kate looked impressed at William’s efforts and said: “Those are so good. How did you do that?”
William joked: “Well I don’t know, my stunning bakery skills, Mary Berry taught me everything I need to know.”
The cakes were cooked for five minutes on each side and Kate and William went to Fountain Cafe to speak to local business owners who had been devastated by Storm Darragh.
The prince then carried the entire tray to hand out to well-wishers including Kerry Williams, 64, who was wearing an Aston Villa shirt.
William was heard saying: “Welsh Cakes made by us.”
The whole tray was snapped up by locals.
Theresa Conner added: “They were very good. I asked and they said they had never made Welsh Cakes before.

“They were surprisingly very good and both good bakers.
“I gave them a quick demonstration and they took to it like ducks to water.
“I should have taken the opportunity to get them in for St David’s Day. I can do with all the help I can get.”
All the Welsh Cakes were taken away by the royals or handed out to people in the market.
Theresa added: “Maybe we could have framed one.”
She said: “It’s a real privilege they came to visit us. It’s massive.”
Palace staff bought ninety Welsh Cakes to take away for lunch.
The shop sells ten for £4.
The couple later sat down with locals at Fountain Cafe to hear about the devastation wreaked by December’s Storm Darragh.
Earlier, they wandered through Pontypridd market and chatted with stallholders including butchers, greengrocers, toy stores, book shops and textile firms.
It was the couple’s first major ‘away day’ of the year for Kate’s “gradual” return to duty – and their first joint trip to Wales since October 2023.
Outside they were greeted by hundreds of well-wishers who drowned out the noise of a very small ‘Free Gaza’ protest.
Apphia Stokes, nine, and younger sister Freya, four, handed Kate some daffodils.
Their grandmother Lynn Sebury, 64, said: “They were lovely. We asked for a photo and they said yes. They got a good Welsh welcome.”
Princess Kate stunned in a red button down coat, deep brown turtle neck and black boots.

She looked glowing with simple makeup highlighting her natural beauty, while wearing her hair in loose curls.
Wills complimented her outfit with a deep red jumper.
The royals beamed as they waved to fans and greeted locals.
Pontypridd’s Meadow Street Community Garden and Woodland, aims
to create a safe and welcoming place where the local community can come together and enjoy the benefits of nature.
The community garden was established in January 2021 and is a site that was overgrown and full of debris from flooding.
The space lets locals take part in gardening, woodwork and weaving and promotes the benefits of nature to wellbeing.
Large parts of the site were disrupted by the December flood and Storm Bert.
Locals in Pontypridd found their front gardens underwater and cars completely submerged on the street.
Persistent rainfall saw the River Taff burst its banks and cause chaos in the town.
Devastatingly this was the second time in four years the street has experienced major flooding.
The local community banded together and passed out food and drinks to the emergency workers.
An entire bridge under construction was washed away amid the disaster.
Kate’s appearance follows a Palace announcement regarding the royal’s“gradual” return to public duties from the New Year.
She has since made a number of appearances including meeting Holocaust survivors at an emotional memorial event, and visiting Tŷ Hafan’s hospice near Cardiff, where she spent time with children, families and staff.
It is also understood tours abroad are “not on the table”, despite Prince William last year saying they might “have some more trips lined up”.
Instead, Kate’s “primary focus” will be her Centre for Early Childhood and UK-based engagements.
The Princess of Wales will also support the Royal Family at events such as Buckingham Palace Garden Parties, Trooping the Colour, Royal Ascot and the Remembrance Day commemorations.
